It's March already!

Don't miss our video blogs for this week. They're in the media player (above).

Morning Blog-Mar. 6

I know we just made it to Friday - but I am so excited for next week. Saturday, March 14th, there's an open audition for a movie being filmed in Genesee County. My executive producer, Lisa Ray, and I are planning to be there, monologues memorized, ready for a cold-read if need be. We'll film our adventure -- or as much of it as we can -- and post it right here on the blog for your viewing enjoyment.

On Monday, Marc will be live with the film's producer, Brad Lyon, and some of the Genesee County Patriots at Atwood Stadium. If you're into the idea of auditioning - they'll give you the when and where, and let you know what to do to be prepared. Here's a bit of incentive for you -- the one and only PAULY SHORE is attached to the movie. It's called "Minor League, a Football Story" -- and we'll be sure to track it closely here on the morning show.

Today, the ABC 12 Spirit Squad was at Grand Blanc High School for School Spirit. It was a fun morning -- and I especially loved the break dancers. As you know -- the point of School Spirit is to raise as much food as possible for the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. We'll post the amount of food Grand Blanc raised as soon as we get the numbers. To check the progress so far, head to www.fbem.org.

That's all I got. Have a great weekend, and we'll be back bright and early Monday morning!

What's UP? It's Thursday, March 5th, 2009.

Last week - Loki Rourke. THIS week I can't stop thinking about Soulja Boy's new song "Kiss Me Thru The Phone." Or, basically, Soulja Boy in general (or wait, is his name really Soulja Boy Tell 'Em? So confusing.).

A, number one -- what does that even mean? Really? Kiss me through the phone? I can't stop giggling about how silly that sounds. Of course I had to look up the lyrics, and seeing it in print certainly didn't help. Do yourself a favor if you need a good laugh and Google the lyrics. Let me know when you get to the "da da da (20x)" parts.

B, number two -- the comments following the lyrics are even MORE hilarious. There's one part in the song where they call out this phone number. I think my favorite comment was the girl who asked if it was Soulja Boy's real number. Cause she called it -- it was busy -- and she wants him to PICK UP. Awesome.

C, number three -- I feel really bad for the girl in the video. I mean, you get cast in a rap video, yay, and then you get stuck by yourself in some room, literally KISSING A PHONE. I would be so mad. On the other hand, it IS pretty great when they have all the random people kiss THEIR phones, too.

Finally, D, number four -- The worst part -- I'm actually starting to like the song! Figures. I'm sure I'll be up at the club requesting it sometime soon.

Alright, back to the news - tomorrow the ABC 12 Spirit Squad (which consists of - me, Marc and our camera guy Mike Sanford) heads over to good old Grand Blanc High School. I'm nervous and excited. I am, after all, a 1999 graduate of GB. I hear the kids have already started collecting for the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan -- and I'm really looking forward to seeing what they've accomplished. It will be VERY hard to beat last week's school (if you missed it, check out Lapeer East's video under the School Spirit tab of the Morning Show page)!

Tune in to ABC12 News at 5 tomorrow morning to see if they pull it off. And of course, check out www.fbem.org anytime to see the thousands of pounds high schools across mid-Michigan have already raised for their communities.

Morning Blog-Mar. 4

Good morning. It's Wednesday March 4th, 2009.

I'm still having a hard time getting over the dramatic conclusion of "The Bachelor." Actually, I wouldn't have a problem getting over it if the clips weren't running constantly on GMA, as well as every cable news network and web site in the entire freaking world!

I just feel absolutely horrible for Jason and the emotional rollercoaster he endured while breaking up with one of his two girlfriends, doing the leaning "man cry" over the edge of his balcony, proposing to the other, jumping hand in hand with his future bride and son into a swimming pool (fully clothed, in case you weren't aware), and then breaking up with the "woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with", only six weeks later on the wrap up show. Who would've thought that his initial reject would take him back? And they all lived happily ever after!

I swear that I've never watched the "Bachelor" before this shocking episode, and the only reason why I actually saw this disheartening turn of events develop was because I fell asleep with the television on, and happened to wake up just as the roses were being handed out. My television was of course tuned in to ABC, because after all, I know what's good for me, and Mickey Mouse provides my paychecks.

Again, I can't stress enough that I have never watched "The Bachelor" before in my entire life.

I wonder how Trista and Ryan are doing these days. I still think Alex Michele made a big mistake passing her up. Trista and Ryan's "all pink" wedding spectacular was one of the highlights of 2003! Does anyone know what Bachelor Bob and Jen Scheft are up to these days?

On another note, in case you missed it this morning, I was fortunate to survive "Bridal Boot Camp." It's a new, 10 week fitness program designed to get you looking spectacular for your wedding day. Hopefully, I'll be able to fit into my dress in time for that big, June wedding.

In all seriousness, this class is hard! The women in the class refer to their instructor, Eddie Brooks, as "Ike Turner."

Eddie's tough, and wants the "wow factor" for the entire wedding party as they make their way down the aisle. He'll tone up the abs, and shrink the booty. "Bridal Boot Camp" begins this Saturday at Power House Gym in Flint Township.

Tomorrow, on ABC12 This Morning, I'll be live at Kettering University. 40 Robotics teams from around the state are dropping by for a big, district robotics competition. The "Grand Blanc Engi-Nerds" will show off their robot, and prove that it's cool to be a nerd.

Until then, have a great day, and I'll see you tomorrow morning.
