Jessica D'Onofrio joined ABC 7, Chicago's Number One news station, as a general assignment reporter in August 2010.
She reports for ABC 7's top-rated Morning Show and has covered a wide range of stories including the Chicago teacher's strike in 2012, the NATO Summit and the Drew Peterson trial.
D'Onofrio came to ABC 7 Chicago from CBS affiliate WKMG-TV in Orlando, Florida, where she reported for the station's 11 pm newscast and served as a fill-in anchor.
Before joining WKMG-TV, D'Onofrio worked at Fox Indianapolis affiliate WXIN-TV where she was both a reporter and fill-in anchor.
Her exclusive reporting and insider's knowledge on the Casey Anthony story led to national appearances on the CBS Early Show, CNN, The Nancy Grace Show and Larry King.
D'Onofrio also worked in Indianapolis at FOX affiliate WXIN-TV where she was both a reporter and fill-in anchor from 2003-2005. Prior to that, she spent two years as a bureau chief and fill-in anchor for WHOI-TV in Peoria-Blommington-Norman in Central Illinois.
A native Chicagoan, D'Onofrio attended high school at the Latin School of Chicago. She's a graduate of the University of Michigan and has a master's degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
She was a recipient of the National Academy of Arts and Sciences John & Anne Drury Broadcast Scholarship.
When not working, she enjoys catching a Zumba class, cooking and spending time with family.
She is married and lives downtown.
