U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald built a terrorism case against two Chicago men with close ties to top Pakistani military and intelligence officers. David Headley pleaded guilty to playing a part in plotting terrorist attacks in India and Denmark. Fitzgerald personally supervised the case. The other man, Tahawwur Rana, was convicted of supporting terrorism by providing material support to Lashkar-e-Taiba and planning an aborted plot to bomb a Danish newspaper.
