CPD marks anniversary of officer's death
July 2, 2009 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- Chicago police officers gathered overnight to mark the one-year anniversary of the death of Officer Richard Francis.
Francis was responding to a disturbance aboard a CTA bus near Belmont and Western a year ago Thursday morning. That's where officers gathered at 2 a.m.
Francis was shot and killed by his own gun during a struggle with the suspect, Robin Johnson. She is in Cook County Jail awaiting trial. Her next court appearance is next week.
