Deadline looms on unclaimed lottery ticket

Someone could be letting $250,000 slip through their hands.

A second place Mega Millions winning ticket was sold at a BP gas station on Governor's Highway in Matteson on November 4 of last year. However, no one has come forward yet to claim the winning money.

If the owner of the ticket does not come forward by Wednesday, the money will be deposited into the Illinois Common School Fund.

Also, next week two winning Little Lotto tickets sold in Chicago expire.

A ticket worth $100,000 was sold at a 7-11 on West Foster.

A $50,000 ticket was purchased at an Amoco, which is now a marathon station, on South Archer. Old tickets can be verified at any Illinois lottery retailer.

$250,000 Mega millions Ticket Sold in Matteson Expires Wednesday

CHICAGO - November 2, 2009 - Someone in the south suburban area could miss out on $250,000 if he or she doesn't act soon. The second place Mega Millions winning ticket was sold in Matteson, Ill., at Amoco on the Go, located at 21102 Governors Highway for the November 4, 2008, drawing. If the owner of the ticket does not come forward by Wednesday, November 4, 2009, the money will be deposited into the Illinois Common School Fund.

Players can have their old tickets verified at any Illinois Lottery retailer across the state.

Also, there are two winning Little Lotto tickets sold in Chicago that will expire in November. A $100,000 winning ticket from the November 10, 2008, Little Lotto drawing was sold at the 7-Eleven located at 1750 West Foster Avenue, and a $50,000 winning ticket from the November 12, 2008, drawing was sold at the Amoco located at 4710 South Archer Avenue. Players have one year to claim winning Illinois Lottery ticket.
