Dispatchers resorted to a backup system after a computer crashed at Chicago's 911 Center.

While the state-of-the-art computer system was down, dispatchers used radios to communicate and route calls to police officers in the field. Officials say the computer failure does not affect response times at the 911 Center.

The system is back to normal Tuesday morning.
