Amazon introduces Amazon Coins, its own virtual currency

  

May 14, 2013 (WLS) -- Amazon has its own form of virtual currency.

All registered users of Amazon's Kindle Fire e-book reader will receive 500 free coins. Each is valued at a penny.

The $5 in Amazon Coins can be used to buy games, apps and more.

Amazon is sending e-mails to people who are eligible for the coins.
