Jessica Simpson, Nick Lachey Divorce Final

LOS ANGELES, June 1, 2006 -- Famous "Newlyweds" Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey are single again.

A retired judge signed off Friday on a divorce judgment between actress/singer Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, officially ending their three-year marriage.

Under the judgment signed by retired Judge Dana Senit Henry, Simpson's legal name was changed back to Jessica Simpson. Papers filed show the pop stars "are restored to the status of single, unmarried persons."

Lachey, 32, and Simpson, 25, who starred in the MTV reality show "Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica," still must sort out their financial issues.

Their separation was announced just before Thanksgiving last year after months of break-up rumors, and Simpson filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court on Dec. 15.

When the couple wed in October 2002, Lachey was a member of the boy band 98 Degrees.

Simpson starred last year as Daisy Duke in "The Dukes of Hazzard." In May, Lachey released his second solo CD, "What's Left of Me," in which he sings about the pain of the pair's breakup.
