Singer turns tables on United Airlines

Thursday, July 09, 2009

A singer who said his guitar was tossed around by baggage handlers is trying to turn a broken guitar into his big break.

Dave Carroll and his band "Sons of Maxwell" were flying United Airlines last year when he said he saw baggage handlers at O'Hare tossing around his guitars. One of them broke- and had to be repaired for $1200.

Carroll said he waited 9 months for United to pick up the damages, but when the airline didn't, he wrote a song about it.

The video was posted on Monday and has been viewed more than 150,000 times.

Carroll said United has called to apologize and said the airline is considering using its video as part of the customer service training.
