January 31, 2012 (LOS ANGELES) (WLS) -- Billy Crystal is putting in hours of rehearsal time, getting ready to host the Academy Awards for the ninth time.

We're hearing that Crystal has a very special guest making an appearance during his opening act, "Uggie", the Jack Russell terrier who steals the show in The Artist.
