Riverdance comes to Chicago in final U.S. tour
March 13, 2012 (CHICAGO) -- RIVERDANCE has been performing in the United States since March, 1996 when it had its U.S. premiere at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
Since then, the show has tapped its way onto the world stage thrilling millions of people around the globe. Composed by Bill Whelan, produced by Moya Doherty and directed by John McColgan, to date, RIVERDANCE has played over 10,000 performances, been seen live by more than 22 million people in over 350 venues throughout 40 countries across 4 continents. While the touring production in the U.S. will close on June 17, 2012, productions of RIVERDANCE will continue to tour the world.
Riverdance is on the stage at the Oriental Theatre for a final time for 8 performances only. March 13-18

BIO FOR PADRAIC MOYLES
Born in Dublin, Padraic began dancing at the age of three for the O' Shea School of Irish Dancing. After immigrating with his family to New York at the age of nine, he continued dancing under the guidance of Donny Golden. He has won Irish dancing championships around the world. He became a professional performer at the age of 12 when he acted the principle role of Sean O' Casey in the Irish Repertory Theaters adaptation of Grandchild of Kings directed by Hal Prince.
Padraic joined Riverdance in November of 1997 and has enjoyed his time in the production as a troupe member, Dance Captain and Principle Dancer. In 2006 Padraic was nominated for an Ovation Award for leading actor in a Broadway touring production. In July of 2006 he joined the Broadway cast of The Pirate Queen where he was also dance captain before returning to Riverdance in 2008. He has enjoyed traveling the world with the shows and has performed throughout North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He has also worked with Eileen Ivers on the The Old Bog Road which he choreographed and performed in.
Padraic has enjoyed performing in movies and on music/stage productions with artists as diverse as Maria Carey, Shania Twain, Cher, Nelly, Ja Rule, Cherish the Ladies, The Chieftains, and Ryan O' Neill to name a few. He has also had the pleasure of performing in television productions like Dancing with the Stars, The Late Late Show, The Today Show and many others. In 2010 Padraic performed as male principle for "Riverdance on Ice" which will be aired on NBC in America in February. Padraic has also had the great pleasure of being a part of the cultural delegation to the president of Ireland and accompanied President Mary McAleese on her state visit to Norway in September of 2008. On that visit he entertained the entire delegation as well as the King and Queen of Norway.
As well as his performing career Padraic also works in the field of Sports Psychology and Motivation, is a qualified Irish dancing teacher and an accomplished athlete. Padraic is delighted to be the Principle Dancer in the new Riverdance DVD "Riverdance Live from Beijing".
