October 12, 2013 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- A look at fun events going on in and around Chicago and the suburbs.

It's a busy weekend in Chicago, from the Chicago Marathon to the Chicago Film Fest!

St. Charles Scarecrow Fest - St. Charles
In St. Charles, the annual Scarecrow Fest features over 150 hand made scarecrows - and you get to vote for your favorite! the fest also has live entertainment, a petting zoo and carnival through Sunday!

Ghost Tour of Naperville  Naperville
On the haunted beat - how about a ghost tour? Paranormal investigator and author Kevin Frantz hosts the Ghost Tour of Naperville! The one-quarter mile walking tour covers some of Naperville's scariest sites during the 90 minute to 2 hour tour! Cost is $25 and reservations are highly recommended!

North American Reptile Breeders Conference  Tinley Park
It's everything you wanted to know about snakes, turtles, all kinds of reptiles! The North American Reptile Breeders Conference is open to the public this weekend in Tinley Park! Hours are 10 am to 5 pm Saturday and 11 am to 4 pm on Sunday.

Big weekend in Andersonville! It's the 11th annual Arts Weekend with dozens of artists displaying their work throughout the neighborhood. It's performing arts too, from live music to the Rocky Horror Show!

Rocky Horror Show  PH Comedy Theater, 1515 w. Berwyn
Dr. Frank-n-Furter's laboratory has taken over the PH Comedy Theater on West Berwyn! The cult classic will be performed Friday and Saturday nights through November 16th with a special Halloween show!

Oriental Theatre" target="_blank"> Also on the theatre beat, the Broadway musical once is at the Oriental Theatre for a limited time. Winner of 8, 2012 Tony awards, including best musical, this enchanting tale runs through October 27.

Chicago International Film Festival  AMC River East 21
Movie lovers everywhere will be heading to the AMC River East 21 for the next couple weeks, for the 49th annual Chicago International Film Festival! Hundred of films representing over 50 countries will be screened now through October 24th.

Bank of America Chicago Marathon  Grant Park
Approximately 45,000 runners will be participating in the Chicago Marathon on Sunday, with 1.7 million spectators cheering them on! The first wave of runners will begin at 7:30 am from Columbus and Monroe. However, events like the Health and Fitness Expo at McCormick Place will be held through the weekend.

There are plenty of ways to celebrate the season right now! Saturday is fall adventure day here at Northerly Island, with harvest themed arts and crafts, ghost stories, fishing in the lake, and a nature hike!

Statesville Haunted Prison
On the haunted beat, Statesville Haunted Prison in Joliet is good for a few screams! With over 150 scary actors in dozens of creepy rooms, this terrorizing tour takes nearly an hour!

Columbus Day Parade-- Columbus and Balbo
It's a long holiday weekend for many, honoring Columbus Day - and Monday is the downtown Columbus Day Parade! It steps off at 12:30 from Columbus and Balbo.

Universoul Circus - Union Park

If you haven't had a chance to see the popular Universoul Circus, it's now delighting kids of all ages at Union Park on the Near West Side.
