State releases updated H1N1 statistics

Thursday, November 26, 2009

The state's latest update on H1N1 shows eight new deaths and 389 new hospitalizations.

The Illinois Department of Public Health says there have been 64 deaths in Illinois since the global epidemic began last spring.

More than 1.8 million doses of flu vaccine have been shipped to Illinois.

Also, U.S. health officials say there's no evidence the vaccine is causing any serious side effects.

Thursday, the CDC warned the holiday season could bring an increase in the number of H1N1 = infections nationwide.
