Many teens don't get necessary vaccinations

There is no doubt airline travel is safer than ever before. But for people with nut allergies, a routine flight can end in disaster.

On a national survey, some parents noted these shots were not recommended or not necessary. In other cases, parents noted their children were not the appropriate age to receive the vaccine.

Although cost was not a major concern, it was a factor for some parents.

Other parents questioned the safety of the vaccines.

The study's authors conclude that more doctors need to stress the benefits of these particular vaccines.

The study can be found in this week's Journal of Pediatrics.
