July 25, 2013 -- From weight loss to health and mood enhancers, from sleep aids to body building supplements, thousands of products line the shelves of grocery, drug and health food stores.
But the US government says up to a 5th of supplements make questionable claims and some 300 diet products are outright fraudulent. With so many deceptions and misconceptions, how do you get straight answers? Dr. James Hardeman gives insight into what supplements you need and what are a waste of your money in his new book "Appears Younger Than Stated Age: A Doctor's Secrets on the Art of Staying Young." He also reveals his top 5 health and diet myths.

- Myth 2 Eating before bedtime puts on more fat than eating earlier in the day.
- Myth 3 Certain fat-burning foods help you lose weight and stay lean.
- Myth 4 You should take your vitamins every day.
- Myth 5 Heavy or otherwise overweight people cannot be healthy.
