ITeam Report: MCC warden Catherine Linaweaver on the hot seat

December 19, 2012 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- As the two Metropolitan Correctional Center escapees stay on the lam, the warden of the Chicago prison is on the hot seat.

For the MCC's warden, Catherine Linaweaver, 2012 was a banner year -- until the breakout. The ITeam has learned that Linaweaver was recently notified that she was being transferred to the highly coveted post of warden at the MCC in New York, temporary home to some of the nation's most notorious criminal names.

Is that promotion now in jeopardy? It was to take place just after the New Year, but a former federal security expert says the escape puts it in doubt.

As the ITeam reported Tuesday night, Linaweaver was also recently named the 2012 Warden of the Year by her national association.

The accolades and Linaweaver's soaring career surprised some colleagues, because her background is education, and not corrections. She also is a private horse trainer on the side.

There will be what's called an "after action report" on the jailbreak, the results of which could interrupt her transfer.
