June 21, 2006 (WLS) -- A northwest suburban teacher, who is also a coach, resigned after being charged in an internet sex sting. Chad Roby, 32, taught at River Trail Middle School in Mount Prospect and coached Glenview youth baseball.
Police say Roby thought he was chatting online with a 13-year-old boy. But it was a Carmel, Indiana officer posing as a child. Police arrested Roby last week when he drove to an Indianapolis suburb to allegedly meet the boy.
He's charged with child solicitation, attempted child molestation, and distributing of material harmful to children.
