Chicago man finds python on coffee table

Thursday, September 06, 2007

Strange noises in the night lead a North Side man to something he thought he'd never see in his home.

Stu Iselin awoke early Wednesday in 3800-block of N. Southport in Chicago and tiptoed into his living room. There, he found a two-foot long python sitting smack in the middle of his coffee table.

"I threw a towel on top of him and kind of crumpled it up," he said. "Then I got a dust pan, and I put it underneath the snake with my hand on top of the towel and got him into a pillowcase."

It turns out the snake belongs to his former neighbors, who lost it a couple months ago and didn't tell anyone. They've since moved but stopped by to pick up the snake later that day.
