R. Kelly needs judge's permission before tour launch

Wednesday, October 10, 2007

R. Kelly has announced plans to go on a concert tour next month. But the Chicago native needs to get permission from a judge to leave the state first.

If the judge grants his request, the tour will open November 14 in Columbus, Georgia.

Kelly has been allowed to leave Illinois on previous tours and events. The performer was indicted five years ago on child porn charges.

His trial has been postponed several times. No new trial date has been set.
