The mayor of Aurora is scheduled to undergo surgery Wednesday morning to remove a cancerous growth.
Tom Weisner says he has a recurrence of his colon cancer. The 58-year-old was first diagnosed with colon cancer in May 2007. He had surgery and chemo-therapy at that time.
A city spokeswoman says Weisner expects to nip this in the bud and be back to work in no time.
Weisner's surgery is Wednesday morning at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
