CPFD: change batteries in smoke detectors

  

The Chicago Fire Department delivers a lifesaving message across the city on Friday -- change the batteries in your smoke detectors.

Firefighters went door to door handing out free batteries to residents.

It's part of the annual "Change Your Clock, Change Your Battery Program."

This weekend marks the end of daylight saving time. Fire officials say it's a good time to replace those batteries in smoke detectors.
