Funeral arrangements have been finalized for a Chicago police detective who died this week, seven years after he was wounded in the line of duty.
Joseph Airhart Junior, 53, was shot in the head by bank robbery suspect Daniel Salley in 2001. Salley is now serving life in prison, plus 132 years.
A wake will be held for Detective Airhart Sunday from 3 to 9 p.m. at Cage Funeral Home at 7651 South Jeffrey.
His funeral is set for Monday at 11 a.m. at Rockefeller Memorial Chapel at 5850 South Woodlawn Avenue.
