Rev. Jeremiah Wright told an audience Thursday night that the media used him in an attempt to derail Barack Obama's presidential campaign.

Obama's former pastor took part in a forum at a church in Milford, Connecticut. He spoke on religion, race and U.S. history.

Wright took centerstage during the presidential campaignm when video clips showed him making anti-American statements.

"They could care less about what I preach. Their intention was to use me as a weapon of mass destruction," he said.
