Beer truck overturns, spill causes delays

June 16, 2009 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- An overturned Miller Lite truck caused major gaper delays during the morning rush hour Tuesday.

The accident happened around 6 a.m. on the ramp from the southbound Tri-State to the inbound Eisenhower.

Fire and ambulance crews responded, but no injuries were reported.

The truck slipped off the ramp and into the nearby ditch, spilling 40 tons of beer products.

The accident scene was off the roadway itself, but slowing onlookers and temporarily ramp blockages during cleanup backed up traffic for a couple miles on the southbound Tri-State.
