The controversy continues over the choice of singer Jeremih for the campaign to get Chicago kids back to school.

Jeremih's a Morgan Park graduate and attended the University of Illinois.

The plan calls for him to use the social networking site 'Twitter' to reach out to students. But Jeremih is best known for his hit song 'Birthday Sex.'

On Thursday, community activists gathered at CPS headquarters demanding that officials reverse their decision. They say his music is not appropriate for students.

"It's not just a song because a song represents what's on the minds of young people. So if this is all that's on our minds, there's a problem," said Delilah Johnson, DePaul junior.

"Artists are always cutting edge and sometimes some of the words you don't like or some of the pictures you don't like anything else. But this young man has made a real commitment about keeping kids in school," said Mayor Daley.

On Thursday, Daley said that he had not heard Jeremih's song.
