September 10, 2009 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- There's an Olympian on your bus.
Or at least making announcements as part of Chicago 2016's "We Back the Bid" campaign.
Chicago is one of four bid cities vying to host the 2016 Summer Games.
The 15-20 second messages run on CTA buses about every 20 minutes. There are six different messages that use the voices of Olympians
- Bart Conner, gymnast
- Connie Moore, sprinter
- Donna de Varona, swimmer
- Gary Hall, Jr., swimmer
- Nadia Comaneci, gymnast
- Paul Moran, (paralympic wheelchair tennis and sitting volleyball teams)
The messages will run through October 1. They were paid for by the Chicago 2016 Olympic Bid Committee.
The ads are not on CTA trains because that system uses older technology.
