Charges have been filed against a West Side man shot by Chicago police on Friday.

Kenneth Williams, 24, is charged with attempted murder for allegedly trying to run over an officer with a Jeep.

A police officer shot and wounded Williams.

Police say Williams allegedly pinned the officer's partner against a fence with his vehicle. The officer suffered only minor injuries.

As standard procedure, the Independent Police Review Authority is investigating the shooting.
