November 1, 2009 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- A celebration at Navy Pier Sunday honored the dearly departed.
Dancers performed Sunday afternoon at the 'Dia de Los Muertos,' or 'Day of the Dead,' event.
The holiday is celebrated mostly in Mexico and in Latin America to commemorate the lives of those who have died.
In addition to music and dancing, visitors Sunday could decorate sugar skulls at the crafts area, and several artists created altars with their offerings to the dead.
