Chicago police are searching for the person who shot and killed a youth supervisor on the city's West Side.

Thomas Tatum worked for the Illinois Department of Corrections as a youth supervisor in the Department of Juvenile Justice. He was killed Sunday morning outside a social club on West Division.

Police found Tatum laying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his back.

Tatum's sister says her brother was not the intended target and that no one would want to intentionally hurt him.

"Everyone who's life he impacted, we all feel a great, great, great loss. we feel the loss more so becsuse of his joy and the laughter that he brought to everyone he touched," said Aretha Tatum, victim's sister.

Tatum's sister says that her brother would also go to schools to talk to kids about staying out of jail.
