A north suburban road shut down by a freight train derailment should be reopened by Wednesday.

Two Canadian Pacific Trains were involved in that derailment in Northbrook on Sunday. Some of the rail cars came down on the adjacent street.

Shermer Road, between Lake and Willow, has been closed since. Amtrak and Metra trains were not impacted.

One of the freight rail lines reopened Tuesday. A second is expected to go back into service on Thursday.

No one was hurt in that derailment.
