There are two deadly cases of Legionnaires' disease at a north suburban retirement community.

ABC7's news partner the Daily Herald reports the residents lived at a facility called The Park at Vernon Hills.

ABC7 has been unable to get a comment from facility officials on Friday night.

In all, there are three confirmed cases of the bacterial disease and seven probable cases at the facility.

The Lake County health department says it appears to be contained at that one location.

Health officials are working to identify a source.

Legionnaires' disease is a severe form of pneumonia. It is not transmitted person to person. But can be contracted by inhaling contaminated mist or vapor.
