November 8, 2009 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- There was no phone or internet access for several hours Sunday at Chicago police headquarters.
Initially there were reports of a small fire in the computer control room but crews found no burned cables or any indication of a fire.
Officers on the street were not affected by the outage Also critical units in the building were able to use cell phones and blackberry devices to stay in touch with the 911 dispatch center.
