Some area fourth and fifth graders were able to speak with a U.S. service member who's a half a world away Monday morning.

The students at Butterfield School in Libertyville connected via webcam with Army Major Jason Hunt, who is currently stationed in Iraq. He is the father of Ryan and Justin Hunt, who attend the school.

The kids were able to ask any questions they wanted of the major about serving his country.

The teacher arranged the Internet chat with the help of the Freedom Calls Foundation to help students understand the importance of Veterans Day.
