November 10, 2009 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- There are new restrictions to help fight the H1N1 flu take effect at Cook County hospitals.
Visitors to Stroger, Oak Forest and Provident hospitals must be over the age of 18.
Anyone with known fevers or sore throats will be denied access.
Visitors allowed in a patient's room have to wear gloves and a mask, then wash their hands upon leaving.
Patients with confirmed or possible flu cases will be allowed to leave their room only for essential medical procedures and must wear surgical masks.
