Two people are dead after a four-car crash on the city's South Side. It happened at East 75th and State Street Saturday evening.

Investigators say Darnell Wells, 52, was driving a Chevy Malibu northbound on State Street, passed a red light and struck another car that was attempting to make a left turn onto 75th Street. That car was being driven by 27-year-old Christoper Chapman, who was killed.

Also killed was 87-year-old Ardella Wells, Darnell Wells' mother.

So far, police have cited Darnell Wells with disobeying a red light and driving without insurance.

ABC7 is told each driver lost control when they collided and hit two other cars.
