November 19, 2009 (CHICAGO (WLS) -- There was drama at a Chicago Police Review Board hearing on Thursday night when a protester tossed lawsuits at Superintendent Jody Weis.
Some who attended the hearing held signs demanding that Officer Richard Fiorito be fired and prosecuted.
As first reported by ABC7, attorneys say dashcam videotapes from Fiorito's squad car call into question his claims that some drivers he stopped were staggering and under the influence.
Dozens of lawsuits have been filed against Fiorito, and protestors accused Weis of remaining silent about the officer.
"I put these in front of you here, Supt. Weis, so that you can take that evidence, and begin doing something about that officer," said Andy Thayer, Gay Liberation Network.
"I think anytime you have an instance of where there's an indication that an officer hasn't been truthful, it's disturbing. I haven't reviewed those tapes. And these things will all be a matter that the courts will certainly look at," said Supt. Jody Weis, Chicago Police.
Weis said Fiorito is doing desk work while the investigation continues.
Fiorito has told ABC7 the allegations against him are not true.
