May 4, 2012 (LISLE, Ill.) (WLS) -- Sanford, Fla., has a new interim police chief in the wake of the controversy involving the investigation into Trayvon Martin's death. The new chief once led the police department in west suburban Lisle.
Richard Myers was formally introduced Friday morning.
Myers says he will study and learn the department's culture, and work on improving relationships.
Myers replaces Bill Lee, who stepped aside amid controversy over the case against George Zimmerman, who shot and killed Martin.
