June 19, 2012 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- The wife of Vice President Joe Biden was in Chicago Tuesday to support the so-called ''College to Careers'' initiative.
Dr. Jill Biden met with the chancellor of City Colleges of Chicago and graduates at Coyote Logistics on West Diversey.
The program promotes successful partnerships between community colleges and employers.
Dr. Biden praised City Colleges for giving students the skills they need to join America's workforce.
"I know how great they are, you know how great they are," said Dr. Biden, "and most of you know how great they are, what they offer to students as far as a good education and an affordable education."
Dr. Biden has been a community college teacher for 18 years.
She visited Chicago as part of a national "Community College to Career."
