Terror conspiracy suspects left to right: Brian Church, Jared Chase and Brent Betterly
July 2, 2012 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- Prosecutors said the evidence against three men accused of plotting attacks during the NATO summit includes secretly recorded conversations.
Brent Betterly, Jared Chase and Brian Church pleaded not guilty Monday.
Prosecutors did not offer any details about the recordings. They have said the men planned to attack President Obama's campaign headquarters and other locations with Molotov cocktails.
"I think it's outrageous what they've done with these people," said Michael Deutsch, Church's attorney. "Keeping them in jail with high bonds that they can't make, charging them with these terrorism charges. And I don't see anything that supports the charges in the indictment."
All three are being held on $1.5 million bond. The judge set a trial date of July 22, 2013.
