August 20, 2012 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- To be or not to be. It turns out more Shakespeare is to be in Chicago.
The mayor's office and Chicago Park District have announced the Chicago Shakespeare in the Park program will expand next year.
This summer, The Taming of the Shrew was performed 17 times at various parks across the city.
The performances gave more than 10,000 Chicagoans free access to outdoor theatre.
Now, the goal is to bring theatre to even more people next year.
Details on next summer's programming will be announced at a later date.
