October 10, 2012 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- A young man was rushed to the hospital after being shot in the head near a Chicago elementary school.
Police say the victim was walking near Whistler Elementary School in the West Pullman neighborhood when shots were fired. Witnesses say that he was shot in the head while running for cover at the school.
The school and a nearby house were also hit.
The victim was rushed to Christ Hospital; his condition has not been released.
