Former Cook County Commissioner Tony Peraica was convicted of misdemeanor criminal damage to property and faces four months of probation, a judge ruled Tuesday.

Peraica was accused of trying to destroy a campaign sign belonging to his political opponent Jeffrey Tobolski before the 2010 election. Peraica lost that race.
