December 7, 2012 (WLS) -- If you're thinking about getting a pet this holiday season, PAWS hopes you'll considering adoption.
The animal shelter is holding a 36-hour adoption event to raise awareness of homeless pets. The no-kill animal shelter says more pets are being turned into shelters at an alarming rate.
PAWS said it has more than 200 pets waiting to be adopted.
