McCormick Place hotel planned with 1,200 rooms

February 19, 2013 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- There are plans to add a new 1,200-room hotel to McCormick Place.

According to the mayor's office, the hotel will create 2,500 construction jobs, 500 permanent jobs, and will allow for an additional 80,000 attendees each year at McCormick Place.

The hotel will be located between Indiana and Michigan Avenue.

A skybridge will be attached directly into the McCormick Place West building.

There is no indication when the project is expected to be complete
