March 20, 2013 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- The wife of a man beaten with an aluminum bat in Chicago's Portage Park neighborhood is talking about what happened during that attack on March 3 as they left a St. Patrick's Day party at Our Lady of Victory Church.
Thirty-five-year-old Dennis Tisdale suffered a traumatic brain injury and broken jaw.
Police say Tisdale and his wife Linda were in the crosswalk on the Northwest Side when a vehicle brushed up against them.
Words were exchanged and a passenger in the car attacked Tisdale.
"He didn't really say anything," Linda Tisdale said. "It's just like he was in a bad mood or he was on drugs or whatever. He just felt like getting into a fight that day, and he snapped and we were there ."
Today police released a sketch of a man wanted in the attack.
Dennis Tisdale spent 11 days in the hospital, but is home now.
"It's just a shame that people, good hardworking young people like this can't walk in their community without some creep like this coming and attacking these people so brutally and so cowardly," said 28th Ward Alderman Tim Cullerton.
Cullerton is offering a $1,500 reward in the case.
