Civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton was in Chicago Sunday to help kick off a summer program to keep kids safe.

Sharpton was scheduled to visit St. John Baptist Church on North Waller Avenue for the start of Austin DreamMakers 2013. The mentoring program offers conflict resolution, academic support and other skills for youth.

The summer park program will be offered at seven locations:

Greater St. John Baptist Church, 1256 N. Waller Ave.
Hope Community Church, 5900 W. Iowa St.
New Birth Church, 5213 W. Potomac Ave.
Original Providence, 515 N. Pine St.
Trinity Community Baptist, 1210 N. Waller Ave.
Rising Sun Baptist Church, 820 N. Waller Ave.
Austin DreamMakers headquarters, 5600 W. Ohio St.
