The mock design of one of the proposed Blackhawks tribute mazes at County Line Orchard.
July 31, 2013 (HOBART, Ind.) -- A tribute to the Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks is emerging in a northwestern Indiana corn field.
The County Line Orchard in Hobart is preparing its annual corn maze with designs celebrating the Blackhawks. Broadcast reports say the orchard will have two mazes - one with an outline of star player Patrick Kane and the other depicting the team's shoulder crest of a "C'' with crossed tomahawks.
Orchard owner Ryan Richardson says he's a big Blackhawks fan and it was an easy decision to go with the hockey theme for the mazes this year. He says the bigger of the two mazes covers about 15 acres.
The orchard expects to open the mazes to the public in early September.
