For the second time in six years, Tyrisce Calhoun, 33, was shot as he visited at Oak Knoll Renaissance apartments.

But this time, Calhoun, who lives in Aetna, was struck several times by a gunman who felled him with one shot, then stood over him and fired several more times, witnesses told police.

After initial treatment at the Methodist Hospitals Northlake campus here, Calhoun was flown to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Ill.

About 1 a.m., Calhoun and others were standing outside in the 4400 block of W. 23rd Avenue when a car crash occurred down the block. Everyone but Calhoun walked over to the crash. That's when witnesses said they heard gunfire and saw a man in a black hooded sweatshirt run from the scene.

In April, 2007, Calhoun was shot in leg outside another Oak Knoll apartment, but police said he did not cooperate in that investigation.

Detective Cpl. Michael Barnes and Lake County Sgt. Edward Jenkins are investigating the shooting. Anyone with information can call either investigator at 881-1210.
