Lake Shore Drive reopens after being closed for helicopter lift

  

August 11, 2013 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- Lake Shore Drive reopened Sunday after it was closed for a few hours between Chicago Avenue and Division Street for a helicopter lift.

Both north and southbound lanes were expected to remain shut down until 9 a.m., but they were reopened ahead of schedule.

The closure was in place because a helicopter was delivering air conditioning equipment to a high-rise building.

Lakefront paths were also closed for part of the time, and some area parking was restricted.

Detour routes were posted.
