August 11, 2013 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- Two cars collided and burst into flames early Sunday in the 4500-block of Western Avenue.
Chicago police say one of the vehicles slowed down to make a turn when the other vehicle rear-ended it.
Both cars caught on fire. One ended up on the sidewalk.
Police say the heat of the fire was so intense, it melted the windows at two businesses nearby.
Three people from the vehicles were taken to the hospital.
